Hi, I’m Cherish

Artist Statement

I am a visual storyteller, and my work is rooted in the pursuit of memory and emotion. Each painting is an invitation into a narrative—sometimes tender, sometimes bittersweet, always meant to make the viewer feel something. Nostalgia is the thread that runs through my practice, weaving together the joy of remembered moments with the ache of their impermanence.

Though my style leans toward realism, I see realism less as an endpoint and more as a vehicle for storytelling. My true focus is on the emotional weight carried by medium and color. I will use any tool—whether brush, pencil, or unconventional material—if it serves the story I’m trying to tell. Color, especially, becomes my language: muted tones to hold memory gently, vibrant hues to amplify the present, and subtle contrasts to suggest the tension between past and present.

At its heart, my work is about connection. I aim to create spaces where viewers recognize their own stories within mine—those quiet, fleeting moments of life that linger long after they’ve passed.
